Book Club
Let’s read and learn together!
Gather your parenting team to all “get on the same page” through a dedicated Book Club via Zoom or in-person. You are welcome to bring any book that you would like to digest, chapter by chapter, with intentional weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly meetings. You can also request a personalized book/article/podcast list to address the specific needs of you and your family.
My goal for Book Club is to help you learn new information and apply it in your home, with your children, and to do so in a manner that honors your specific parenting journey. Reach out to find out more information on what this can look like for your team. Rates depend on the number of people in the group and the number of meetings desired.
Read. Reflect. Parent better — together.

I am big fan of Dr. Becky Kennedy and her book “Good Inside.” Dr. Becky’s work is based on the premise that two things can be true at the same time: kids are good inside AND can be having a hard time. She extends this truth to parents as well: parents are good inside AND can be having a hard time. She draws upon Attachment Theory and Internal Family Systems. She basically summarizes all of my favorite people (Dan Seigel and Tina Bryson, Ross Green, Bessel van der Kolk, Alfie Kohn and many others) and does so in a practical, applicable, and poignant manner. It’s a connection-first mentality that views behaviors as a window to what’s really going on underneath. If you are limited on time, this is my go-to resource for all caregivers!

You get to decide! Some families divide up a book, chapter by chapter, and have a set meeting time via zoom on the same day/time, for example, Tuesdays during a lunch break. We meet for 4-8 weeks in a row depending on how the group divides up the chapters. Other parents have found it helpful to read the entirety of a book and set up a one-time session to discuss the main themes, specific topics, and the application of techniques with their child(ren). We will find a schedule that works best for your parenting team.

As many as you like! Invite your whole team to “get on the same page!” This could include, but not limited to: co-parent, partner, grandparents, respite care provider, nanny, babysitter, and friend group.

Great! We can read and learn together. I love when parents bring me a resource they have found on their own or one which has been recommended to them by others. My goal for Book Club is to help caregivers digest new information and apply it to their home, their child(ren), and in a manner that honors their specific parenting journey.
